Emergency smart phone app for mothers and daughters

App Sends Out Emergency Flare

 Published : Thursday, 01 Mar 2012, 6:25 PM CST
HOUSTON - In an age when there's an app for everything, a new one uses a lot of your smart-phone's capabilities to let people know you might be in trouble.
At the press of a button, “MyFlare” is designed to send a package of alerts to a pre-determined list of emergency contacts to get help where and when you need it.
Houston-area personal safety teacher Richard Bloom promotes the product locally.
He says, “It utilizes all of the essential resources of the smart phone: 911, GPS, audio, visual, text, email, all done instantly, automatically, simultaneously, and continuously just by pushing one button."
Users do need to be aware of their surroundings and potential dangers, in order for “MyFlare” to be effective. It's available on iPhone, Android and soon, Blackberry, for a one-time charge of $9.99.

Austin County Aggie Moms 2-6-12

Sandra Merz with speaker Richard Bloom, getting the Austin County Aggie Mom's club members in the mood for the Personal Safety for Business Professionals presentation at the Sens Activity Center in Bellville. Thanks Sandra for doing your part to insure the safety of your members

"On behalf of the club, I want to thank you for the safety tips you presented during our resent Austin County Aggie Mom’s Club meeting. I have received numerous comments from the members expressing appreciation for your presentation. Personally, I have shared the techniques you demonstrated with my daughters and granddaughters. While I fervently hope they never have to use the skill set, I am comforted in knowing they have the ability to do so if necessary. Again, thank you for taking the time to share this message with our group. I have and/or will recommend your presentation to church members in College Station (Great Commission Ministries) and to teachers in several area school districts."
